Founded in 2022, Companion.energy reports massive growth over the past year. Its customer base and revenue have grown tenfold, with Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) now exceeding one million euros (investors love a predictable and fast-growing ARR). Today, the company serves over 30 corporate clients, including TotalEnergies, KPN, Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Interparking, and Proximus Group. In total, the platform manages more than 2 TWh of annual energy consumption and production, as well as over 200 MW of decentralized energy assets and storage, including photovoltaics, wind power, and battery storage.
The demand for intelligent energy management systems is rising alongside the increasing volatility of energy markets. While energy prices used to follow stronger seasonal patterns, they now shift much more frequently due to the expansion of renewables on both a large scale (bringing both upsides and downsides—naturally, you want to capitalize on the positive spikes with low or even negative spot market prices, while avoiding the downsides of high spot prices as much as possible) and a small scale (on-site generation and flexible assets). As a result, traditional procurement processes are generally becoming increasingly costly, and companion.energy states that its flexible energy management can deliver 10–30% in energy cost savings.
Congratulations to companion.energy, and continued success!
