Factorymaker secures €1.1M in pre-seed funding to accelerate factory planning

Vienna-based ConTech startup factorymaker has closed a €1.1 million pre-seed financing round. The round was led by Berlin-based VC 2bX and xista science ventures.
The investment was finalized in January 2026 and is intended to accelerate the further development of the company’s AI platform for factory planning.

Can various AI applications already generate designs for residential and simple commercial properties or assist architects and MEP engineers in the process? And is the digitalization of factory and plant planning a true niche? That is exactly where factorymaker comes in!

Today, factory planning is often still highly manual: on average, a single production layout takes about 100 working days—and any planning errors later result in costly rework.

Factorymaker changes the game: Using AI-powered technology and a proprietary database of real-world projects, the platform generates and evaluates layout variants in minutes instead of weeks, assessing them for costs, process efficiency, and environmental impact. Early adopters like Siemens Energy, Schaeffler, and the Hilti Group are already using the cloud-based platform.

If you’re curious to see how it works, the webinar featuring Marias from October 2025 is available in our media library.

We wish the team continued success!
