Schüttflix, the ConTech company based in Gütersloh, is parting ways with around 65 employees (approx. ⅕ of its workforce) by the end of the year. Administration and management are primarily affected. Moving forward, the focus will shift more heavily toward the operational core business and company-owned recycling facilities. We wish the team a lot of strength during this difficult step.
Berlin-based ConTech Tawo, founded by Daniel Broecker and Simon Probst (both formerly with Enpal), has raised €4.5 million, including €500,000 in debt capital. On board are Centrotec, Leadership Datacenter, OBI SQUARED Venture Capital, the trade group HPM, as well as H2 Ventures and other business angels. Tawo combines high-quality craftsmanship with digital processes for electrical installations and plant engineering. Congrats on the round! 🚀
ecoLocked, the Berlin-based ClimateTech founded in 2021, has filed for insolvency. Lawyer Florian Linkert has been appointed as the provisional insolvency administrator. The startup develops/developed CO2-optimized concrete formulations and bio-carbon additives for the construction industry. Just recently, Matterwave Ventures, Climentum Capital, Counteract, SFO, Sabanci Building Solutions, and Voyagers had invested around €4 million.
Winterthur-based ConTech Borobotics has been selected by Emissions Reduction Alberta as one of ten companies for the Drilling Technology Challenge. The project has a total volume of 8.8 million Canadian dollars, of which 4.4 million (around 2.5 million Swiss francs) will be provided as funding. The autonomous drilling robot for geothermal probes will be tested in Winterthur and Calgary. A major step toward entering the North American market. Congratulations 🙌
This news has already gone quite viral: Berlin-based PropTech Fuchs & Eule has raised ten million euros, led by the GET Fund. PI Impact, WaVe-X, and existing investors SET Ventures, Picus Capital, and Realyze Ventures also participated. The capital will go toward AI-powered screening tools and renovation consulting for real estate portfolios. According to their own analyses, the technology saves an average of 21.6 tons of CO2 per building per year. Congratulations! 😉
British construction giant Balfour Beatty is taking a strategic £10 million stake in Fund IV of Pi Labs, an early-stage VC specializing in the built environment. The goal is to gain earlier access to technologies for productivity, schedule adherence, and safety on major projects. CEO Philip Hoare speaks of a strategic investment in practical innovation. At the DENEFF RealGreen Award 2026, the Bewag-Pensionskasse, together with pom+ and the ETH spin-off Optiml, won in the Portfolio Strategy category. With its Real Estate Decision Intelligence (REDI), Optiml develops software that enables institutional investors/owners to make data-driven decisions across entire real estate portfolios. The award was presented at the DENEFF Annual Conference at Alte Münze Berlin.
