Swiss Climate Foundation Supports Nine Startups with Over CHF 1 Million

In its second funding round of 2025, the Swiss Climate Foundation supported nine innovative Swiss startups with a total of CHF 1.044 million. Combined with the first round earlier this year, 20 projects promoting climate action and sustainable technologies are now benefiting from a total funding volume of CHF 2.4 million.

Under the motto “Protect the climate. Strengthen SMEs.”, the foundation supports startups as well as small and medium-sized enterprises that make a measurable contribution to climate protection. Three of the supported startups are directly linked to the real estate and construction sector:

Thermal Transformer AG (Schwyz) uses waste heat from server or data centers. Through an adsorption cooling process, the generated heat is recovered and reused for cooling. This addresses the growing demand for energy-efficient cooling in AI and high-performance data centers.

smart-me AG (Zug) has been offering an integrated solution for intelligent energy and building management since 2014. With its own smart meters, EV charging stations, and cloud software, the company measures, visualizes, and controls energy flows—enabling consumption optimization through a single platform.

XULUX GmbH (Lucerne) supports companies, municipalities, and building owners in the transition to renewable energy. Founded in 2025, the startup provides strategic energy consulting, planning and feasibility studies for district heating networks, as well as tailored energy concepts for buildings, including refurbishment and solar potential analyses.

Since its foundation in 2008, the Swiss Climate Foundation has awarded more than CHF 42 million in funding across Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein. The current funding round further highlights the foundation’s strong commitment to climate-friendly technologies.

Wishing continued success to the startups and SMEs involved!
