Strategically, this move makes perfect sense for Procore. It will significantly accelerate AI integration within the platform and provide customers with enhanced data connectivity. While central AI functionalities will be embedded directly into Procore, it is our understanding that the Datagrid offering will continue to be available as a standalone product, specifically catering to clients with multiple data sources and complex use cases.
Thiago Da Costa, CEO of Datagrid, will join Procore to lead the company’s AI and data strategy. As highlighted in our article on The Bau Ventures, this acquisition demonstrates how construction firms, established software providers, and consultants/planners are increasingly active in the ConTech and PropTech space. This has become a major exit channel—likely even more significant here than in other industries. Furthermore, the deal underscores the rising importance of Artificial Intelligence within the construction sector.
The official purchase price for Datagrid AI has not been disclosed by either Procore or Datagrid.
