• BIM
Introduction, Strategic Foundations, and Initial Solution Approaches
from the series ‘BIM for Municipalities’

What can you expect?

The first module of the in-depth webinar series “BIM for Municipalities” is aimed at municipal stakeholders who want not only to understand BIM, but also to use it strategically. Jakob Przybylo opens with a practical introduction to the fundamentals of BIM and explains the key terms, methods, and standards. At the core is the question of what added value BIM offers specifically for cities and municipalities. Using examples, he demonstrates how BIM projects can create transparency in planning and accelerate decision-making processes.

Participants will learn which strategic prerequisites are necessary to integrate BIM sustainably into municipal processes. These include aspects such as political objectives, organizational structures, and the involvement of various stakeholders.

In addition, the module shows how municipalities can develop their own roadmaps step by step. A practical framework for the first implementation steps is presented. This enables participants to gain not only theoretical knowledge, but also clear and actionable perspectives. Typical obstacles such as limited resources or knowledge gaps are also addressed openly.

Jakob provides guidance on how municipalities can overcome these barriers without losing sight of what is realistically achievable. The module underlines that BIM should not be viewed as a standalone technical topic, but rather as a strategic tool for sustainable planning, construction, and operation.
