In this webinar, we examine the importance and relevance of the digitalization of locking systems for the construction and maintenance sector as well as for facility management. Due to continuous technological advancement and the growing need for flexible access solutions, staying up to date with current developments is essential. We will address practical challenges and issues arising from the use of traditional key systems, such as the loss or theft of keys and difficulties in digitizing key management. These challenges pose a significant obstacle, particularly for new operating models such as co-working spaces, as they require a high degree of flexibility and scalability. Constantly changing user groups and varying access requirements demand a system that is easy to manage and adapt.

Interfaces (APIs) play a key role in the integration of digital locking systems, as they enable meaningful integration of access control into existing and new processes. This allows digital locking systems to be connected with other applications and systems within a company or building complex, ensuring seamless and efficient control. We will review the various digital access media and their respective advantages and disadvantages to provide a comprehensive comparison.

Access Control as a Service (ACaaS) is a particularly attractive solution that offers numerous benefits for practical application. In addition to simplified management of access permissions, ACaaS enables fast and straightforward installation as well as integration into existing infrastructures. A cloud-based platform allows centralized monitoring and control of access rights across multiple locations, while easy scalability supports adaptation to growing requirements.

This webinar provides impulses for further exploring the selection and implementation of the most suitable access solution for each specific situation. It aims to establish a foundation for decision-making regarding the introduction of digital access systems and their integration.
