But why actually?
We know from various studies and sometimes also from our day-to-day work that productivity in the construction industry lags far behind that of other sectors. Some even claim that it is stagnating. But how can that be? In terms of modeling software, we are just as well positioned as mechanical engineers. Smart technologies are also finding their way into buildings or into the construction of buildings. Nevertheless, we are not managing to significantly increase productivity or add value, at least not on a large scale. There are certainly several reasons for this (project instead of product business, fragmented structures, etc.).
We can’t solve everything, but we think we can tackle a problem relatively quickly. The lack of exchange and the opportunity to learn new things after training, master craftsman or university. This is where we come in! We want to offer the best seminars and training courses on innovative topics and create an exchange that is relevant! The seminars are developed with a great deal of passion and, where appropriate, build on each other. In this way, we create a consistent learning experience that builds on each other.
Who is actually We?
We, that’s all of us. We invite everyone to share exciting thoughts/articles and post them here, to point us to work aids, to enter into the discourse (community tools will follow when we have achieved a bit of relevance and more than a handful of people visit us on ipbb.io every day). The website was built by Dimitri and me. We are colleagues and work in the field of BIM and smart building. I came up with the initial ideas. I was inspired by another industry, the online marketing rock stars. That’s why, in addition to www.ipbb.io, we can also be reached at www.bau-rockstars.de (was our working title and first web registration. The email addresses therefore end in @bau-rockstars.de).
So that we can concentrate on new topics, the responsibility for the content and development of the various areas will not lie with either of us in the medium term. Clemens is already responsible for the “Commissioning & Technical Monitoring” area. He definitely knows more about this area and has developed the first series of seminars that build on each other. From the “Basics and Planning”, “Implementation and Documentation” of commissioning to “Technical Monitoring”. Staffed by the who’s who of experts in the field. For the areas of BIM, ESG and innovations, we are still looking for new participants or have already contacted some people we know.

Everything you see and read here was created after work, at night when the children are in bed or at weekends. As a start-up, we would say “bootstrapped”. That’s why we have a monthly/yearly view of things we want to do on the website/platform rather than implementing innovations in days or weeks. But we promise to keep at it! Every week, every month, every year. And the small “night team” has one advantage. The decision-making processes are short. No time is wasted?
